Jewellery Care

Jewellery is precious, from a sentimental and a practical perspective. Look after it, and future generations will thank you.

The key is to protect your jewellery from sharp blows, scratches, chemicals, sunlight, heat and cold.

Here are some basic tips to follow:

  • Always keep your jewellery in a dry place.
  • Don’t let your jewellery come into contact with cosmetics, nail polish, perfume or hairspray.
  • Chlorine in swimming pools can damage jewellery, so take it off before swimming.
  • Keep your jewellery in a soft-lined box or pouch, and don’t allow the jewellery to rub together or tangle.
  • Try to remember to remove your jewellery when you go to bed at night.
  • Wear jewellery for appropriate tasks.
  • Remove rings when you’re cleaning, gardening or playing sport
  • Remove your jewellery before showering (settings can get clogged up with soap).
  • Clean your jewellery regularly. We sell special cleaning fluid that you can use at home.
  • Visit us at least once a year – we’ll check your jewellery and settings, and give it a professional clean and polish to make it look brand new.
